Corporate Trainer

Key Role:

Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union's training program. Research training needs within the credit union and develop programs that reflect the strategic plan of the organization. Communicate credit union goals and direction to employees, coordinate staff training, and implement and conduct training programs individually and in group settings.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist in the development and execution of the annual training plan and training budget.
2. Budget and approve training expenses, determine staffing requirements, and analyze costs for creating programs versus importing programs.
3. Develop and implement needs assessments and evaluate member surveys to determine new areas for training. Create programs that reflect the needs of employees, overall competitiveness of the credit union, and that enhance member service.
4. Analyze training programs to determine effectiveness of programs.
5. Communicate with all employees to ensure positive and clear understanding of credit union goals and direction, and products and services.
6. Coordinate and provide direction for training staff.
7. Develop, implement, and conduct on-going training programs that support the growth and direction of the credit union.
8. Develop and find professional, cost-effective training resources. Evaluate outsourced programs, and special projects as requested.
9. Assist branch and administrative staff with operational training, certification program, and special projects as requested.
10. Prepare training and resource manuals/procedures by identifying purpose; assemble and compose information for the manuals/procedures.
11. Keep abreast of new technologies, training trends, and products and services of the credit union. Maintain knowledge of instructional technologies by attending seminars and reviewing professional publications. Establish professional networks and participate in professional training organizations.
12. Other duties related to essential job functions to meet organizational needs.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Five years of similar or related experience in the financial services industry. Knowledge of all Teller, FSR and Loan Functions.

Education: A high school education of GED. A bachelor's degree a plus.

Interpersonal Skills : A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work requires motivating or influencing others and communicating branch goals and objectives as well as overall credit union goals and objectives. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy, trust and leadership skills. Obtaining cooperation and establishing strong management techniques to produce positive results.

Other Skills: Candidates must have an established history of successfully leading a team of sales professionals in a financial institution or retail sales environment. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of financial services experience. Strong sales, analytical, leadership and coaching skills are required. May be required to work weekends and/or extended hours and regular, reliable attendance is critical.
